Our founder, Gianluigi Dellaccio, an esteemed gelato chef with roots in Napoli, Italy, envisioned a place where the art of gelato could be celebrated and shared with all. His journey, marked by international acclaim and a passion for gelato that knows no bounds, led him to bring this vision to life.
The Visionary: Gianluigi Dellaccio
Gianluigi’s story is one of passion and dedication. Before embarking on his culinary journey, Gianluigi Dellaccio was a star water polo player, representing Naples and Italy with distinction. His crowning achievement came in 1993 when he scored the winning goal, clinching the Italian championship for his team. This spirit of excellence and determination later fueled his transition from the water polo arena to the world of artisanal gelato. Becoming the first official gelato ambassador to the United States, his story is one of passion, transformation, and dedication. His title, a testament to his skill and commitment to gelato, highlights his efforts to promote authentic gelato culture on a global stage.
Expansion & Innovation
With the success of Dolci Gelati in the DMV area, Gianluigi set his sights on New Hope, PA, eager to introduce his artisanal creations to a new audience. Gelato Shop represents a significant expansion, bringing a slice of Italy to Bucks County with a focus on authenticity, local flavors, and community.
